Maurice Byrd, LMFT, has worked as a harm reductionist since 2004. He works as a clinical supervisor, and has collaborated in the development and implementation of community programs for people experiencing chronic mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and experiencing homelessness. During his career, he has provided mental health and substance use treatment to populations across the developmental and age range. He specializes in teaching, facilitating, and training in harm reduction and psychedelic assisted therapy. He has a love for facilitating groups. He has been trained in MDMA for PTSD with MAPS and he has also been trained in Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT). He has also provided individual and group KAT Therapy. He has taught in MFT programs and is a published author, cowriting the chapter Dealing with Drug Use After Prison: Harm Reduction Therapy in the book Decarcerating America.
